Well I don't know how to answer this.  This is the silliest poll question ever.  I'm a rabbit lover, voting Democrat (this time) though have voted Libertarian or Republican in most other elections prior to this.

Basic logic Laure. "Animal-Hater or Democrat." Not "Animal-Hater AND Democrat." But I have added Rabbit Lover for you.

Dog lover all the way... and voting (L).

We had a cat (my wife's idea), but had to get rid of him.

Oh, no. I'm not going there. You can do the induction for yourself.

;-P

Cute kid, BTW.

His hypothesis was that nobody likes to see or vote in polls written by authors who are temporarily insane during the authorship.

Funny, Dean. You must own fish and vote Right to Life?

Come, on, people, the corrolation is obvious, even if the sample is small.

Libertarians love cats?

I suppose it makes sense. Someone who prides about how they can’t be told what to do sees himself in an animal that doesn’t do anything.

When a cat will search out, locate and point a mouse, staying back at a safe distance while I shoot the mouse on the run, and if that cat will then gently retrieve the mouse in her mouth to my hand, sit at my heel, and put that “what shall I do now?” look on it’s face—that’s when I will love cats and vote Libertarian.

Forgive me. In 36 hours my dog and I will be in Nebraska knocking pheasants out of the sky.

Correlation? I didn't vote so I can't see the results to figure a correlation.

Ted, your image is broken!

"Insane" perhaps, but not broken.

And Dean, there must be some option that subsumes you, so do vote. Remember A or B is true if A is true and B is not. Laure should have voted "Democrat or Animal Hater" but she seems to have forgotten logic 101. Pick a category that applies and explain the corrolation you see.

Heyyy - I know my logic; I just didn't want to be lumped in with Animal Haters!  By the way, I'm getting cold feet about voting for Obama.  His infomercial the other night left me distinctly underwhelmed.  I may write in Ron Paul.

Robert,

You wrote: “Ah Jon - always a servile-loving person, huh...

We’re still talking about PET preferences, right?

If so, then yes, of course I see the value in a companion that connects with you, over a span of years, of training and attainment of skills. My dog doesn’t do “sit-up, roll over” tricks. She is the carnivore tamed and in my hands, like the fire tamed in man’s hands in Rand’s cigarette. Shit, I’ve gone poetic now. Your post has inspired me!

Back to subject…if my other options are a rabbit or a cat, then it’s too easy. The only smart thing a rabbit does is make round poo. Do you know why they do that? So it will roll out of the cage. Seriously smart, but that’s the only one thing.

And cats? I’ve always had them since I was a kid until a few months ago when we lost The Muss. When a cat comes at you purring hard, it’s great. But it’s always at their timing, kind of like a woman. And I already have a woman.

Well, as the Democrats begin their infighting, with Waxman wresting a chairrmanship from Dingell, we see that democrats are of two minds:

Well, I got all confused... chose "love all animals", which I don't. I like dogs better than cats, but we've got four cats... because I love my wife. Now, she loves all animals, maybe better than people. If she could squeeze a horse into the elevator, we'd probably have one of those too. She (we) have rescued various cats, dogs, raccoons, fish (!), crabs (feisty buggers), pelicans (unappreciative), and squirrels (how she found me). This has all led to my complete inability to meaningfully bond with any one political party. Therefore I'd like to change my vote to "rabbit lover or uncommitted". Rabbits make a fine stew.
