A Show off for True Democracy
Posted by Max on 8/06, 11:26am
Again Mr. Ron Paul, the congress man from Texas, gives us a little glimpse inside the theater in Washington and reveals the strange and staggering decision-making.
The exchange of "special interest" passed the CAFTA bill and brought about 50 billion of costs to the tax payers. Another "splendid" result of Mr. Bushs domestic fiscal policy (The president’s press secretary called the CAFTA vote “a real victory for the American people.” ), which was never about keeping a balanced budget, so the comparison to Regean is more than obsolete.
Nobody reading Mr. Pauls observation can think for a minute that democratic process as we see them today, are any longer a means to serve the constitution. Is this the "welfare" of the general US public?

I say 'no', because we in Germany have encountered the same kind of "networking" politics for the last 20 years (at least since the Kohl-era) and the result can be seen today: huge unemployment, a social system crisis and Worker Unions who oppose any change to the better.
